Ally Law: In All Seriousness or the Lack of It

In all seriousness, or perhaps a complete lack of it, the dreary mundane routine of life is finally cracked. Albeit, ever so slightly. A life best suited to a tranquillised zombie. Not a robot because they act as refreshed as those rare muppets who claim to have had a good night’s sleep. Sure!

This crack in the mirror’s reflection, the reflection tending to resemble a revolving door showing the same thing each time or each day, is like a bolt of adrenaline surging through the body. Obviously with half-charged batteries, given that this feeling of excitement has a short window to make its presence felt. Nevertheless, a pleasant change as such.

All thanks to an infamous YouTube influencer with little disregard for life, let alone the law. Perhaps the word ‘life’ would be best substituted for ‘safety,’ considering a lack of safety creates his issues with the law. Despite at times, seemingly being above the law with his epic escapes, talking himself out of arrests, as well as Law being his surname. Oh the irony!

So… introducing Law. Ally Law. Depleting all free time from hooked viewers and the cause of elevated adrenaline and anxiety levels. Who knows how many serious medical conditions he would cause if he started filming interactively for VR platforms like Occulus Rift!

The intensity of the insanity, mind boggling danger of an equivalent Richter scale. Ludicrously crazy and obscene, yet certainly creative at times. Specifically, walking on the slippery roof of a 50 storey skyscraper (Tour First in Paris) as the sun begins to set. A spectacular view indeed, although on the flip-side, if he were to fall off his viewing ledge on the edge.

The risks heighten with his preposterous feats, clearly unplanned and unstaged, risking it all for the experience of feeling alive. Yet perhaps trapped in an addictive cycle, where urges must be fully satisfied in order to preserve his sanity, or whatever is left, if any. This tends to results in what he calls an ‘overnight challenge,’ something he attempts to carry out on a daily basis. Sometimes more than once a night, particularly when he gets chased out by police or security. Even when he’s arrested, much to the resentment of local authorities who seemingly have little powers to prevent such absurd acts from taking place.

On occasions when Law and his accomplices are issued with temporary bans (a few for life) and curfews, or printed circulations of his profile are distributed to and within all of UK’s police forces, security groups and store chains, he consistently tends to bypass any suspicion, regardless of failing to change his appearance. Law doesn’t even hide his clothing label he proudly wears everywhere he goes. ‘It’s a Madness,’ his apparel and merchandise state. How more obvious can you get?

Interestingly, fans of all ages subscribe to his YouTube channel (currently 3.17M subscribers!), purchase his merchandise and eagerly take a selfie with him. It’s certainly not just the police or security guards who recognise him. Fans all over the world do too, especially as his exploits take him all over Europe and on one occasion, Melbourne. Perhaps as a result of feeling like he’s being run out of the UK, Law attempts to climb and explore buildings and locations in other countries at the risk of being shot by military police or having a more severe form of punishment applied to him particularly when he fails to research (or at least, bother to) the laws that could apply to him.

As viewers find themselves hooked on watching this mischievous, daring and adventurous Ginger Warrior, who is certainly recognisable especially with his style of laughing which many often comment on, as stupid or scary his feats may seem (well in theory… ARE!), it’s hard not to feel a surge of adrenaline.

That rare feeling of being so alive.

Not to necessary copy what he’s doing, particularly that of the extreme. More like trying something new, perhaps slightly dangerous or out of our comfort zone.

Preferably within the limits of the law, which one cannot help but wonder how often the law deserves a little pushing or extending for one to grow. Law’s exploits tend to attract criticisms from all walks of life, even the Parkour community, a sport he started doing before his exploits and something he practices regularly.

Or we could just keep watching YouTube, as we remind ourselves that our mundane routine is perfect for us people, who feel like tranquillised zombies. Day in, day out. Being boring is certainly safer and more law abiding.
